Water Rationalization Certificate (WRC)

Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) implemented Water Rationalization program to set a minimum water flow rate for mixers, taps and ceramic appliances in order to rationalize the water consumption in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition, this program uses the Water Rationalization Label as a method to compare water consumption between the products displayed in market.
Each model under the scope of this program shall be registered and licensed in SASO platform before entering Saudi Arabia, this license is valid for one year. Accordingly, each licensed model shall receive both a license certificate and Water Rationalization Label from SASO, the Water Rationalization Label shall be attached to each product before export.

What are the products under the scope of this program?

SASO issued the Technical Regulation for “Water Rationalization Tools- M.A-156-16-04-06”, this regulation includes the following products: Public Toilets Mixers. Private Toilets Mixers (Basin Mixers). Kitchen Mixers (sinks mixers). Bidet Mixers. Shower Mixers. Showerheads. A handheld Bidet (Shattaf). Shattaf Mixers. Western Water Closets (toilets). Eastern Water Closets. Aerator. Urinals.
